The Magic video box is super quick! I travel a lot with kit, so having a lightweight medium sized box with all we need within it, has proved very useful. Many of the best designs are simple, using good quality materials, delivering the result and at a fair price. The Magic Video Box ticks all these boxes.
As a DoP who shoots feature documentaries and films for Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc I rely on the best equipment to do my job. For me the MVB is a game changer in its field. It’s lightweight and ease of assembly are key for me but more importantly it’s just great at doing its job fast and superbly. Many Producers and Directors I work with agree! Delivering a high quality film is key to all of us and time is a big factor in that, so the speed of assembly, simplicity of design and its multi function capabilities are all huge factors not only for us but push it way in front of its competitors. The interviewee can’t see the lens, so any nervousness from being filmed disappears. The device helps to create a space for the interviewee where they are ‘cut off’ from the crew, which reduces any embarrassment they might feel from recounting their story/experience. The process is quick, simple and comfortable for the interviewee, which has meant the interviews being emotional and authentic.
Using the MVB for my interview was great. The communication down/through the lens to the interviewee worked very well, particularly as the questions were both searching and intimate.

Within 72 hours of reaching out to Sybil and her team, we had used the unit on-set and immediately saw the difference it made.
